Running fan? - Audi 80 TDI - 1Z with air conditioning - 1994

HELP
have swapped:
thermoswitch, relay for 3rd stage (located behind the electrical panel)

he runs at:
Ignition on
detached cable connector at thermostat
in triggered relays (located in the fuse box)

he stops:
if I remove stage 3 relay (but I bought it new!),
if I turn off the ignition
and if I disconnect the cables from the fan (that's what I've done now)

Hello Georg2,

Does your vehicle have air conditioning? Then it could also be the overtemperature switch for the air conditioning!

Otherwise, check the circuit diagram to see which relay controls the third stage.
Regarding your Audi 80, I assume that this signal comes directly from the coolant temperature switch. It may also be connected to the engine control unit, but I am not sure about this for the Audi 80.

'There certainly can't be many more errors, either climate control, cables (to the climate control switch, climate control switch, and possibly the MSG), or possibly the MSG itself (unlikely). So, it shouldn't be too difficult to repair. If there's a cable problem, a new cable can be easily installed...'

as already mentioned - the thermostat switch and the relay are new in the cooler.
