Hello everyone.
After removing and reinstalling the clip-in glove compartment light (a combined unit with an integrated button), it illuminates even when the glove compartment is closed!!! ???
It was then fixed at the workshop, but now I've pulled another cable and I'm having the same problem again? Does anyone have any advice for me?
best regards
thomas

Hello, it's possible that a contact is bent or has come loose from the plastic housing.
Simply remove and test for functionality.

Here in the forum, there's a picture of the Golf IV glove compartment lamp, which was once in a quiz. Since the switch is integrated into the lamp, the contact is definitely bent. As mentioned above, remove it and test it, and then make sure that the bracket from the glove compartment lid hinge makes contact with the black switch again. The technology isn't really great there!
