Hello,

'I installed a GRA (glow plug relay) in my car last week, and it seems to be working fine so far. My question is about the instrument cluster. There's an indicator light for the activated GRA (in instrument cluster 10/99, the light is faintly visible). It's not described in the owner's manual, but the supplementary manual states that it should light up when the GRA switch is activated. I haven't found anything about this in the forums. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there perhaps a code for optional equipment?'

Best regards, Manuel.

Do you have an LED on your steering column switch?

Hello,

No, are there any with LED lights? What does that have to do with the instrument cluster?

Best regards, Manuel.

It's possible that it has something to do with that. There are some models with LEDs. I have a later 3B model (07/00) where the instrument cluster already works. However, I think you just need to run a cable (to the control unit and then to the instrument cluster). I have no idea which cable it is, though.

Best regards, WarLord.

Hi,

My built-in graphics card also doesn't have any LEDs.

How are these indicators configured? Do they illuminate (a) whenever the switch is in the "On" position, or (b) only when the GRA (Ground Radar Altimeter) is actually in operation?

Best regards,

Jan.

For the Passat and Touran, they illuminate when the GRA (Gas Recirculation) is set to 'On'. For other vehicles (such as the Golf, Polo, and Lupo), it will likely be similar.

Hi,

Okay, so the information content is zero, which means I shouldn't be sad about not having it. It would just be another source of distraction in the darkness...

Best regards,

You can tell at a glance that the device is on (and you don't have to look at the steering column switch).

Best regards, WarLord.

The Golf and Octavia models also do not have this feature.

And to be honest, she would just annoy me. The GPU is ALWAYS running.

'Led am Gra-Hebel?' I've never seen that on any recent VAG models.

Only a green light on the dashboard indicates whether the GRA (Automatic Emergency Braking) is activated (Volkswagen) or is currently engaged (Audi).

That's interesting. What position is it in?
It's definitely not a standard feature in the Octavia's dashboard, and in the two Golfs I saw, it wasn't present either (although they did have a GRA).
I know her from the Passat. And yes, she really is annoying.

Below the number 20 on the DZM.

Okay, so in the SEAT Toledo (my brother's car), the VDO speedometer has the lamp socket, but the lamp itself is not installed. I need to check the wiring to see if the wiring is even present.

Hi Warlord,

I'm doing it like Bertil - this thing is always on. I turn it off using the clutch or brake, and the switch stays in the "on" position. You don't need an LED for that... it would annoy me, and it annoys other people too.

Best regards,

Jan.

ahhhja...

It looks like this for me:
The free space between the low beam and the airbag is for the trailer control system. Below the filament is the EPC (Electronic Power Control). Below the ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) is the engine warning light.
Between the fuel tank and the brake, there's a light for the open hood, but it's non-functional. Below the fuel tank is a lamp control (which I don't have).

Hello,

In the Passat, at this location, there is the indicator for the GRA (Airbag and low beam headlights are not present in my car. I understand that you don't want the indicator. I just always appreciate it when something shines so BEAUTIFULLY icon_lol.gif}. It should just be complete. Does anyone perhaps have a wiring diagram that they can look at, despite their reluctance?

Best regards, Manuel.
