Yes, because it probably no longer meets the current technological standards (compared to a newly produced battery), and no, because there was hardly any or no chemical activity within the battery due to the plasticizers evaporating from the plastic casing. If we assume that it was stored without vibrations, one would likely not be able to detect any difference between it and a freshly manufactured battery of the same type.

The battery type was released two years ago and is therefore still current.

A pulse charge should almost completely eliminate this after filling.
