Hi.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes yesterday:
"After getting a new hood a few months ago due to front-end damage, and finally removing the bird droppings that had been on it yesterday, a shadow remains. The paint is milky and looks swollen in that area." You don't feel anything when you scratch it with your fingernail.

I can provide more photos if you need them.

Does anyone have a great idea on how to get rid of this?

Or was that it with the new hood? icon_evil.gif

Hello Martin,

Unfortunately, bird droppings are extremely corrosive, and no paint (whether new or old) can withstand them without damage for very long. Therefore, I always rush to verschandeln up any bird droppings on my car as quickly as possible.
I had the exact same experience with my 1Z. Fortunately, a few days later, a deer ran into my car... and after that, no one cared anymore icon_wink.gif.

Bird poop is really annoying. It's best to remove it as quickly as possible.

I don't know what your experience is like, but personally, I've had very good results with stubborn issues by using 2000-grit or 3000-grit sandpaper, then polishing and sealing. This way, I was able to restore a really badly damaged A4 to a like-new condition. The car looks like it just came off the assembly line.
