Hello,

I would like to learn how to use VAGCOM. I would like to know how to log correctly, what makes sense to log, which values are interesting, etc.

I gathered some information from technical articles and then tried logging groups 8, 9, and 11.
Unfortunately, it appears that the logging stops when group 8 is enabled.
But what I have, I'll put as a link here.

I'm also interested in learning how to properly read and interpret log files, and how to get an overview of which group logs or outputs what. I'm not really sure what to do with the fuel injection quantity limitations that are showing up in my logs.

Here are my logs:
1. Log with a test drive in 3rd gear, between approximately 2000-4000 RPM, with full throttle.
Log 1

2. Log with a test run in 2nd gear, full throttle.
Log 2

Well, if anyone is willing to take the time to look at the files, that would be great.
Thank you in advance.

Can you adjust the logging rate in VAGCOM? To obtain more data points and avoid having too many missing intermediate values.

It's only possible to a limited extent. While you can adjust the timing settings to a certain degree, it mainly depends on the engine control unit (ECU).

Using 2 or 3 groups drastically reduces the sampling rate.

Setting 'Blk_Int' to 25 and 'Char_Int' to 0 results in the maximum speed. However, you should test this in each specific case, as some control units might not allow any further adjustments.

Try setting Options -> Blk_Int = 25, Char_Int = 0. This should make it a bit faster. However, the EDC-15 engine control units will not give you more than approximately 3.5 samples per second (with a single data point). This restriction is in the engine control unit, not in VAG-COM.

Hello!

That's probably also the reason for my problem, right? My T4 has an EDC 15 engine control unit installed. (It's a 2001 ACV model).
