Audi A6 Window Regulator Repair - Model 98

Hello everyone,

'In recent weeks, I've been experiencing a recurring problem with the driver's side window. It seems to struggle a lot to close properly. It moves very slowly upwards, and sometimes it even reverses direction and opens the window again. I'm not sure if this is due to a stiff window or mechanism, or if the motor is simply getting old.'
In addition, there's a short but distinct 'click' sound that always occurs in the same spot during the opening process (about 10cm before the window is fully open).

Has anyone here ever experienced this problem before? I'd really rather not buy a new engine if the issue turns out to be somewhere else...

I once treated the very stiff and slow-moving window seals of an old Mercedes coupe belonging to a friend with silicone spray (on all the guides around the window and the lower seal). It was quite a mess sometimes (getting the window clean again ), but since then, it's been working great and quickly again.

--> Head to the hardware store and buy some silicone spray.

For all types of rubber, baby powder (talc) is an excellent lubricant.
