Hello,
I ordered the 0.232mm nozzles.
You're here now, and I've noticed that two of the five injector ports are not at the same height as the others.
Is that normal?
Unfortunately, I no longer have the originals and can't check them anymore...
Can someone tell me if this is normal?

PS: Apparently, the nozzles are supposed to produce the same spray pattern as the original AFN injectors.

Why don't you ask where you placed the order?
The nozzle holes are not all at the same height because the nozzles are installed at an angle in the combustion chamber.
Did you check the opening pressure after installation?

But it seems to be okay. Thank you for the quick response!
I haven't installed them yet.
But I have never experienced nozzle installation pressure issues before, how could I?

PS: The 0.232 nozzles go into the bodies (or whatever they're called  from the T4 nozzles, there the opening pressure is slightly higher than standard.

It's not about the nozzles reaching a certain injection pressure. A consistently low or high opening pressure of the nozzles is relatively harmless. However, significant differences in the opening pressures of the various nozzles can be dangerous.
The injection start control loop has only one evaluable feedback signal from the NBF. If the opening pressure of only one other nozzle deviates significantly from that of the NBF, then the actual injection start of that nozzle will be quite inaccurate. That can be quite dangerous for the engine  .
To illustrate:
If the opening pressure of an injector is higher than the opening pressure of the common rail, the injection in that cylinder will occur too late. If the opening pressure is lower than that of the nozzle, the injection will occur prematurely.
Depending on the size of the deviation, this can lead to significant shifts in the timing of the injection start for the cylinders.

If the T4 injector holders are new and your new injectors consist of a complete repair kit, including the injector tip and needle, then nothing much should go wrong.

The T4 injector holders are only six months old, so they are fine.
I don't have a repair kit, just what you mentioned: the nozzle tip and the needle.
I know many people who simply replaced the nozzle tip and needle.

Just out of curiosity, I'm using a programmable chip. About 80% of the time, I'm running it without increased boost pressure and without extended injection times. When I need more power (using 0.205 injectors), I activate the chip.
"Larger injectors, specifically 0.216 or 0.232, are coming soon. I believe the 0.216 injectors are acceptable in terms of wear and tear without an additional chip. I don't think there will be excessive wear. But what about the 0.232 injectors? How does the increased opening pressure affect the injection duration?
Can the maximum injection pressure of the pump be increased?

Larger nozzles generally lead to a decrease in injection pressure (unless a larger pump piston is used).

I would recommend the 232 model. The turbocharger has enough potential to ensure a soot-free combustion, but it's questionable whether an additional 0.2 bar of boost pressure would be sufficient. Especially at low speeds, due to a lack of air and the standard injection timing, you may notice some smoke.
With appropriately adjusted software, even engines with the 232 model could operate without producing soot.
The combination of a VB loader, a 232 ESD, a 10mm pump, and the corresponding software has proven its effectiveness on many occasions. Passat 3C Variant mit 2,0 TDI

It makes perfect sense that a quieter noise level can be achieved by increasing the injection pressure.
With a constant nozzle opening pressure and simultaneously higher injection pressure.
On the pump side, the pre-injection duration is reduced.
How does the associated earlier main combustion affect the volume?
It is highly likely that the volume reduction is caused by...
the finer atomization is restored by the more intense main combustion, or
the engine would become even louder.

Modern diesel engines operate in the 2000 bar range for the main fuel injection.
