Hello,
I'm planning to buy a new laptop, but unfortunately, there are very few that have a serial port. While it shouldn't be the most important factor when buying, I suspect that a built-in serial port simply works better than a USB-to-serial adapter. The background is that I already have a well-functioning (original) diagnostic adapter that uses a serial connection.
Currently, there are two notebook models available: one with a serial port and one without. The model with the serial port costs approximately 150 euros more, but has slightly better specifications.
How well does diagnostics work with a USB/serial converter? What are your experiences? --------------------------------------------
