Hello everyone.

I drive a chipped Seat Toledo from the year 2000.
Two years ago, I had a performance enhancement software from the company XOZOX in Braunschweig installed on my engine control unit (ECU).
I was completely satisfied, and my car ran like a rocket.
Now is the time for me to buy a new diesel car.
(I want to sell the car without any performance upgrades.)
I wanted to have the original software installed by a qualified technician.
He told me that it wasn't possible because the device is protected by a code.
It is impossible to install the original software without the code.
I can't reach the company anymore; perhaps they no longer exist.

Question: Who can provide me with information on what I can do?
I would really appreciate any answers.

Greetings from the Seat Diesel Racer.

Usually, the chips were soldered into the base and new EEPROMs were installed. You would actually only need to replace them with ones that have the original data fields. This is quite simple: find the original files in a forum, burn them onto new EEPROMs, insert the EEPROMs... done! icon_cool.gif

Well, finding the parts and installing the EEPROMs would be the easier part. To program them, you'll need some equipment or someone who can do it for you. icon_confused.gif

Unfortunately, it is common practice to protect the software (whether stored in EEPROM or flash memory) from being read and copied.

Please provide the VAG number of the control unit.

Best regards, Rudi.

Please provide me with the company's exact previous address; if possible, send it to me via email.
Perhaps I can help you.

Best regards, D.

Well, that's just the usual way of doing things.
Even with ***, you can't just do an original update after chipping; it's locked for that purpose. And getting the chip removed, updating, and then reinstalling it costs a significant amount of money.

It's frustrating when there's a bug in the software that could be easily fixed with just an update.

Luckily, you just want to get it down, not put it back up.

At Wimmer, you'll receive the old chips in a small cassette.

Manuel.

That also annoys me a bit; my chip was also soldered in.
They could have easily given me the original chip back then, so I could potentially reinstall it later.
Well, you learn from your mistakes!

@Seat Diesel Racer

I hope you'll sell the car with the disclaimer that it has already been chipped, right?

Best regards, WarLord.
