A friend wants to install a tuning box on his Galaxy 1.9 TDI 90hp, manufactured in 1997.
Now we're talking about the adapter wiring harness. Do we need an 8-pin or a 10-pin one?
I took some pictures of the connector, which we think might be the right one. It has 6 wires going into it, and one hole is empty. So, if it's the correct connector, I would need the 8-pin version.
I'm unable to remove the control unit located behind the instrument cluster .
This gray cable needs to be connected to a pin, but I can't seem to remove the control unit. Is there a trick to it?
I have this power box http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40184&item=7911669367&rd=1 and a 97 Galaxy.
'I don't recognize this thing, and I have no idea which cable goes where. I had a similar box in my 1Z, and in that case, this cable went to the gas pedal. If it's the same for you, just connect it to the gas pedal's ground terminal.'
If you could help me with the engine control unit (ECU) removal
I can't get the large connector off the control unit because a smaller connector in the back is blocking it. However, I don't know how to remove the smaller connector.
