Disable windshield wipers!!

Hi,
Since I have repurposed my windshield wiper system into a charge air cooler sprinkler system, I would now like to disable my windshield wipers. The problem is that when the windshield wiper system is activated, the windshield wipers also start running. I want it so that only when the windshield wiper lever is pulled backward, ONLY the windshield wiper system functions, and the windshield wipers do not start running!!! Can anyone help me? I have a Golf IV!

Maybe you already know this, but I'm writing it here anyway.

According to German road traffic regulations (StVZO), a fully functional windshield washer system is mandatory, and a vehicle without one is not approved for road use.

Exaggerated example:

Your windshield is getting dirty due to a lot of dust/insects, you can't verschandeln it anymore, and you end up having an accident...

We're all familiar with that feeling when you're too lazy to refill the water.

I would spontaneously suggest checking which other devices are connected to the same fuse, as the windshield wiper is likely not on its own circuit. If it's only for a short time, maybe just remove the corresponding fuse.



Or maybe take a look at the windshield wiper motor; there's probably a connector there that you can simply unplug. However, this will require removing several plastic trim pieces.

Or you could unscrew the wiper arms, as there's only one screw per wiper arm.





That's all I can think of.

Thanks for the answers, but I still need the wipers to work because I'm stuck if it rains. What I want is to disable the wipers *only* when using the cleaning system, not completely! Nevertheless, THANK YOU

The simplest way would probably be to build a simple button into a blank plug for the center console, which, when pressed, would supply power to the windshield wiper motor.

A luxury version would involve using a temperature sensor on the coolant reservoir or utilizing the charge air temperature sensor to activate the windshield washer pump motor. Then, a solenoid valve could also be used to switch the path of the spray water, directing it either between the windshield and the radiator or elsewhere.
A time limit might be useful, so that the windshield washer motor doesn't melt if someone drives at full speed for 10 km on the highway.
Feedback on the status of the windshield washer fluid cooling system is provided via an LED indicator in the center console plug. When the windshield wiper lever is activated, the system automatically switches back to the normal mode (spraying onto the windshield).

My suggestion for the simple version:
The button activates a solenoid valve that switches the windshield washer fluid from the windshield to the radiator, while simultaneously activating the windshield washer pump motor.

Well, it shouldn't fail because of that .

Get a 2X relay that you can use to switch the two connection wires to the motor between the 'normal' and protected +12V, and ground.
You supply power to the relay coil by, for example, applying a protected +12V to the coil via a button in the center console. You can connect the other end of the coil to the ground terminal of the motor.
You can connect the solenoid valve that switches the water hose between the disc and the intercooler in the same way.

If you press your button, the following happens:
The solenoid coil is energized and switches the water hose from the disc to the windshield washer system. The relay coil is energized and switches the connections of the windshield washer motor from 'normal' to +12V and ground -> water flows.
If you activate the windshield wipers, everything functions as it should.

Another option would be to tap into the windshield washer line for the rear window and disable the rear wiper. Then all the important functions are preserved, and it's easier to install.
What is the effect of liquid-cooled microprocessors that use water for cooling?
