Hello everyone.
It seems like the ignition switch is defective in my car, and I want to replace it with a new one.
I've now removed all the steering column switches and I'm looking at the steering column.
The manual states that I need to remove the clamping ring and spring from the steering column!
Okay, a question: Unfortunately, I have no idea where this clamping washer is located.
I can see the feather, but I can't remove the steering lock housing.
Regarding assembly, it states that I need to use a suitable rod to re-seat the spring and washer? And do I need to remove the actual locking cylinder by pushing it out through holes in the steering lock housing?
Is there an easier way to do this? And if not, how do I do it?
Philipp is looking for help with his car, a Golf III from August 1997, which has an airbag steering wheel.
