Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I've been having problems with my engine swap (from ACV to AJT) until today.
The car drove like a naturally aspirated engine without turbo boost.
But today, I had a brilliant idea.
I checked the charging cartridge and the rod.
I was able to compare it with another T4 bus.
The can, along with the retaining bracket, was pressed down approximately 0.5 cm.
The rod was therefore under a lot of tension from the very beginning.
So, all the pressure has been released.
Something probably got stuck to the engine during transport.
Then I pressed it up a bit, and the turbo boost was back.

Now, my question.

How do I properly assemble the pole.

If I floor the accelerator now, the car will reach an engine speed of 3500 RPM.
Then it makes a loud hissing sound from the exhaust, and I think that's not healthy.
Can misadjustment of the control rod cause the boost pressure to reach an unhealthy level?
drive, but I'm worried that the engine will eventually fall apart.
Since I had a hard time planting it, it certainly shouldn't happen now.
Please give me some tips.
Thank you.

Best regards, Klaus.

Yes, if the emergency response doesn't arrive quickly enough...

The simplest way to adjust it: Connect the diagnostic system, take a test drive, and observe the desired and actual boost pressure values, along with the duty cycle of the solenoid valve for boost control. Then, adjust the rod so that: a) there is some reserve to reduce boost pressure at full throttle and high RPMs (which can be seen in the duty cycle), and b) the engine still responds well.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer.

I've already looked up the data for the T4 ACV in the forum.

Here is ACV at full load.

Engine speed in RPM: 2900..3100.
Boost pressure should be 1700..1950 mbar.
Boost pressure is in mbar: 1700..1950.
Keypad relation. Turbocharger boost control valve in %. 5..90.

I'm sorry for my question, but...

What does "reserve" mean?
And where should the aspect ratio be, closer to 5 or closer to 90?
I'm thinking more like region 80 at full load, or maybe I'm mistaken.
Is there still some room to let off steam?

Best regards, Klaus.

Hello,

As you know, you can see it at a glance by looking at the measurement display, which shows the control behavior during driving.

Best regards, Rainer.

Das Taktverhältnis ändert sich ja mit dem Solladedruck. Wichtig dabei ist das die Grenzen nicht erreicht werden. DTherefore, 5...90.
Just take some measurements at different loads and speeds, and examine the duty cycle. If it hits a limit, simply adjust the rod.
