Whirring noises from the gear/shift cable mechanism in the RPM range of 2800-3300 RPM cause a rattling of the gear shift lever, especially in 3rd gear. Cause: Suggestion for shifting forks from the 02J gearbox (A2 1.4 TDI 55 kW). Solution: -The modified shift/selector cables can be ordered under part number 8Z0 711 874 S. - Furthermore, a gear shift lever with the part number 8Z0 711 051 E (from the 66 kW engine) can be installed in the gearbox housing.
