GRA Defect: Troubleshooting TV Series Issues

I'm new here and I'd like to bother you with a small problem right away.

I've owned a Passat TDI Komfortline with an 81 kW AFN engine, manufactured in 1999, for some time now.

Shortly after, the GRA stopped working. Today, I removed the cover from...
Steering wheel removed, and the problem was immediately identified. It's located in the turn signal switch housing.
A conductor film, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges from the lever and runs around the switch housing. This film is completely torn.

Now my question: What spare parts do I need?

Okay, hold on to the steering column switch! That's the thing with the turn signal lever on it.
There's nothing available individually, if that was the question.

Thank you for the response. However, I would have preferred a better solution. Something like a repair kit, or something similar.

Does the steering wheel need to be removed for the replacement, or can it be done without removing it?

Hi,

"It needs to be detached. The Bink switch is essentially "threaded" in place. You could try to fix it by carefully attaching the film to the lever and then securely connecting it to the cable."

If the repair doesn't work, then you can expect to pay around 50 euros for the switch .

Aftermarket GRA?

This error often occurs when the cladding is not installed carefully.
When assembling it, be careful not to break the new one again.
(If the airbag is deactivated, do not turn on the ignition, otherwise there will be an error message in the control unit.)
