Hello heating oil community,
'I'm having a problem with my AFN engine: The error code 'quantity adjuster N146' appears intermittently in the diagnostic memory. Occasionally, I experience strong jolting under all load conditions, around 1800 RPM and again at approximately 3500 RPM, similar to what you'd feel with air in the fuel lines. Here are the details of my car: Seat Toledo, manufactured in 1997, with 180,000 km. What components could be failing, especially since the problem is intermittent and only occurs occasionally?'
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Marcus

If you're experiencing really hard misfires (like ignition misfires), it likely sounds like a problem with the needle valve lifter!

It can also happen if you have a tuning box installed! If that's the case, check the connector pins for their tightness! If one is loose, it could be the cause!

icon_cry.gif Well, nothing has been done to the car except for the K&N funnel, so there's no tuning box or chip because it actually has enough power. Additionally, since last week, it occasionally revs up in a wave-like pattern at full load (pressure surge). And completely inexplicable: if the warning light comes on, I can restart the car as many times as I want, but it always starts blinking after about 20 seconds. Then the error is also not displayed as sporadic, but constantly, and it cannot be cleared. After a few hours of standstill (usually overnight), everything is okay again - the error is sporadic, nothing blinks, and the error can be cleared. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop to read or record data on the go.
'Does anyone else have any suggestions? Which of the three cables is the volume control connected to? I know the pins on the 8 or 10-pin connector, but I'm interested in the ones directly at the pump. I've also had problems with martens in the engine compartment, at least until about a year ago.'
Thanks for your help.

P.S. I can hardly go online during the week, which is why my replies are delayed.
