Hello fellow mechanics!

Also erstmal muss ich Herr MichaelJ herzlich danken fuer seine saubere Arbeit an meinen Wagen Golf 3 1Z tdi 08-‘94. LOB!!
Okay, so the injectors were aligned and the ESP was recalibrated. The car is running better than ever before... it's unbelievable how much of a difference it makes.
There are no further error messages.
'ONLY! When we removed the injectors... the new NHG was identified as leaking! The injector bore was completely full of diesel.'
All the connections are tight, so this diesel leaked between the threads of the injector holder and the injector. Therefore, remove it and return it to ATVG-Deutschland in Heilbronn.
This is already the second NHG that is causing problems.
Now I'm driving that old thing again...
The injection amount is currently set to 2.0 mg/H... is that a bit too high?
I'm still looking for the ideal amount.

Greetings.
Eric.

Just out of curiosity:

It's clear that using a duster is sufficient, but...

What settings did you use on the ESP?

- Basic adjustment: Mechanical (i.e., by twisting the pump).
- Signal box moved.
- Basic alignment via adaptation.

Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Thank you."

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

We were able to read the injection timing using VAGCOM. icon_wink.gif It was slightly too late due to the new injectors. } Then, we adjusted it continuously. } So, we carefully loosened the bolts and tapped one on the 'cam' top and one on the pump, gently against the pump, to rotate the pump in the correct direction. } We checked this until the timing was exactly on the blue line. } At operating temperature.
Dynamically checked and verified. No further error messages.
I'm just wondering what the injection amount should be. It seems a bit too much at 2.0mg/H.

Apparently, you don't understand how a diesel engine works.
There's no lean or rich mixture; diesel always runs with an excess of air.

If the idle injection volume were too high, your idle speed would also be too high. The engine control unit (ECU) regulates the idle speed via the injection volume.

Nothing can be adjusted regarding the idle fuel volume, at least not directly, only indirectly via the target idle speed.

Okay. Clearly. Well. Then I'll just let the car run like this... icon_wink.gif
Okay, let's replace the engine mounts. I'm experiencing resonance issues at 1300 RPM and 2300 RPM.

He's not entirely wrong:

If the amount of fuel injected appears to be very low when the engine is idling, this results in a higher-than-normal actual fuel injection amount during the power-based (instead of speed-based) control in driving conditions. This can be briefly and somewhat inaccurately described as a "rich fuel injection setting."

"Adjusting the pump with less excess air" would probably be a bit too elaborate...

Ah, so, you mean an adaptation of the fuel injection quantity in the MSG, right?

Basically, it doesn't matter why the pump is "stuck" or "not working properly."
Adaptation works in a similar way to a shifted Mean Shift Window (MSW), but the latter is often much more powerful than the limited flexibility of adaptation.
