Hello, I wanted to ask if it's possible to convert a Euro3 SDI engine to Euro4 or D4 (is that even a thing for diesel engines?). The car is an Ibiza from the year 2001/2002.
Do Euro 4 vehicles always have a particulate filter?
It's about the expensive tax, something like €300 for 68 horsepower.

For Euro 4 compliance, a complete vehicle inspection report is required.
The standard primarily uses vehicle size and weight as key parameters.

D3/EU3 Diesel (vehicles with engine size not exceeding 3 or 5 liters), for vehicles with a displacement of 1900ccm = €293 per year.
D4/EU4 diesel vehicles (not those with engines of 3 or 5 liters) with a displacement of 1900cc = €293 per year.

Yep. You'll never get anyone to install whatever devices are needed to upgrade a car from Euro 3 to Euro 4 through tax policy.

Even a Euro 2 diesel isn't much more expensive in comparison (with a 1.9-liter engine, it costs about 30€ per year). However, anything older than that is extremely expensive compared to it.
