Hello

Just to make it clear, I'm not talking about any kind of modification. If you look around, there are quite a few ESPs (presumably referring to specific equipment) from AFN available for purchase, and as far as I understand, AFN hasn't had any issues with pump malfunctions.
After I've replaced everything else on my 1Z (GDV's, nozzles, hydro's), and the engine still has a strong knocking sound (only under load), I'm going to try replacing the fuel pump.
Can I simply screw the AFN pump into my 1Z and assume that my control unit will work with it?
Has anyone done this before?

The AFN has a different engine computer. There was a discussion on the board about whether the rattling could be caused by the engine computer. In the end, I actually think it could be, since we had a 1996 Passat with 174,000 km that didn't rattle at all (first fuel pump and first set of injectors, including the needle valve).

But unfortunately, I don't have an answer to your actual question.

Hi!
The AFN pump is the same as the 1Z! You just need to pay attention to the connector!!!! There are pumps with round and oval connectors! I think they also have a different number of poles, 8 and 10-pole!? You just need to compare them! Is it dependent on the year of manufacture? From pressure, pump pistons, flow rate, etc. – everything is the same!
Best regards, Timo
