Hello,
My AVF 130PS PD engine is making a lot of noise and vibrating strongly. I have a measurement log from a recent diagnostic run. Perhaps someone here could take a look and see if they notice anything unusual. Since I'm not an expert, the values mean little to me, and I'd also like to know which measurement blocks are particularly relevant when there's excessive noise and vibration. The only thing I've learned from reading the forum is about the values of the mass airflow sensor (MAF). Those seem to be okay, with a maximum of 1249. I would be grateful for any tips regarding the relevant measurement blocks.

It's best to first create a well-structured and organized table. Otherwise, most people will quickly close Excel. I think someone has described how to create a clearly readable table right when importing the raw data into Excel.

Hmm, if I open this file with Excel or StarOffice 5, I get a table!
Okay, new attempt as text:

or as an xls file:

Is your EGR valve intentionally sealed, or is it unintentionally sealed? What I've noticed is that your target and actual mass airflow sensor values don't match.
Measurement data block 3 - MAF (specified) => Target MAF value.
Measurement block 3 - MAF (actual) => MAF actual value.
The actual value is already too high when the system is idling. This always indicates a closed [system/loop/valve, etc.].
AGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve). I don't know to what extent your PD engine is immune.
Is there anyone who is against modifications to the AGR (Abgasrückführung) system? Is there an error entry in the engine control unit (ECU)?
When I was working on my Audi AHF engine, I temporarily disconnected the connector from the AGR valve to test it.
The results also showed misfires, rough running, and an elevated mass airflow sensor (MAF) value at idle.
Alternatively, I could also consider the LMM itself. If it provides values that are too high,
Then, the engine control unit (ECU) attempts to regulate it. Measurement block 3: EGR duty cycle.
Take a look at the LMM and AGR technical articles. This will help you pinpoint the problem with 100% certainty.

Hello,
It would also be interesting to see the values of the idle speed control.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi,
Okay, the AGR valve is sealed for testing purposes. That's why the readings are high. I don't have any error messages in my system. I only had a message related to the mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor), indicating an open circuit or a short to ground.
'However, this was likely caused by disconnecting the mass airflow sensor (MAF) connector. After clearing the error, it hasn't reappeared. I will send you the values for the idle speed control later.'

Hi,
Here are the measurement values for the idle speed control:
-0.33 | 0.49 | -0.02 | -0.14
It seems everything is still within the tolerance range. Could a single cylinder that deviates slightly be causing the vibrations?

Hello. The problem is likely the synchronization angle between the camshaft and the crankshaft. This should be very close to 0°. You can adjust this by shifting the camshaft sprocket in its elongated holes. This should fix your problem.

But shouldn't the injection timing then be incorrect? According to VAG-COM, it actually looks good.

No, the power drive (PD) determines the start of the boost purely electrically, regardless of how the network water (NW) is configured.

Have you ever read the synchronization angle before and after adjusting the Northwest (NW) setting?
According to the company's registration documents, a misaligned nozzle is not listed as a cause for incorrect readings. notGruß Ulf

I see, but this only helps me to a limited extent. I simply lack the necessary technical expertise (and I'm afraid ) to adjust my NW (and it's not even guaranteed to help). The technical article on adjusting valve timing and PD elements in the 1.9L PD engine is well-written and explains things clearly, but ultimately, I'm not brave enough to try it myself. Does anyone have a tip for a local workshop where I could have this checked or adjusted? The Karlsruhe or Zweibrücken area would be ideal.
