Hello everyone,
I'm brand new to this forum, and I'm about to loudly and desperately ask for help.
Yesterday, while driving on the highway, my car (manufactured in 1998, 240,000 km), which runs on biodiesel, suddenly started sputtering and then stalled. This has happened to me before, and after replacing the fuel filter, everything was fine again.
So, I called ACE and had the car towed to the nearest workshop (an independent garage). They replaced the diesel filter, then fiddled around with it for a long time, and finally took it to another 'independent' garage, who said they couldn't do anything because the engine control unit was locked.
After much hesitation and struggling, we finally let the 'friendly' person drag us away, and they arrived with the following piece of bad news:
ESP failure :-/, Audi part number 059 130 106 DX.
'I was actually planning to only keep my baby car seat until December and then get a newer one for Christmas, but the thought of paying €1,600 plus installation makes my stomach churn.'
Okay, here's the translation:
Now, my questions:
Can an ESP (Electronic Stability Program) malfunction if it's 'discharged' or 'reset' without being properly initialized?
Can an ESP be repaired?
Are there any cheaper suppliers than 'Freundlich'?
4. Was haltet Ihr davon, eine gebrauchte ESP zu verbauen? Kriegt man sowas? Is it worth it?
It's only for 2 more months...
buh-huh-huh
I would be very grateful for any help you can offer.
Your Jack.Pott.
P.S.: Does anyone, perhaps from personal (and unfortunate) experience, know the Bosch part number for the ESP Audi part number 059 130 106 DX?

Have you ever used the forum's own search function?

Have you ever used the forum's built-in search function? Hello Julian,
To be honest, I don't have much experience, but I'm not a professional (even though my knowledge on this topic has grown exponentially in the last 24 hours).
If I dream tonight about LMMs, AGRs, and ESPs, it will only be because of this – incidentally, excellent – forum.
Therefore, I have taken the liberty of summarizing all the questions that have been bothering me. I hope I haven't annoyed anyone too much with this.
Your ignorant/eager-to-learn.
Jack.Pott

To quench your thirst for knowledge:
1. Yes, the VP44 can do it.
2. Only for absolute professionals.
3. Yes, for example, the famous auction platform, and other internet providers.
4. That's where opinions really diverge. It's a matter of personal taste.
For more detailed information, I also have to refer you to the search function, as these topics have been discussed extensively here.
Tip: Don't necessarily believe every diagnosis, even if it seems very likely to be correct in your case...

Yes, but unfortunately, far too many people do that, and therefore one repeatedly reads the same things. And you don't have to be a professional to use the search function!
If something is not covered by the search function, please create a thread!
