Hello everyone,

I was just 'playing around' with VAG-COM diagnostic software.
It's possible that I accidentally pressed 'save' somewhere.

Since then, the fuel gauge has been reading zero, and the corresponding display block is also showing zero.

Does anyone know how I can tell the fuel gauge that there are still 36 liters in the tank?

Thank you and best regards,

Peter.

I just checked again. It's about the...

Combination instrument 064g.
7MO919861R

Can the fuel fill amount be re-entered through a channel?

Best regards,

Peter.

Hello,

You probably modified channel 30 in the instrument cluster. Try saving the value 128 there.

Subject: VAG-Com: As long as you're not sure what you're doing, I would stick to just reading error codes. There are functions (basic settings) in the various control units that can cause even more problems than your current issue.
Therefore: Either I know what I'm doing, or I'm doing nothing.

Hello Michael,

Okay, thanks! I'll try it out tonight.
Where is the documentation for the function of the different channels?
'Tell me, where did you get this information?'

Best regards,

Peter.

Hello,

There is a lot of information on this topic in the error database.
Just take a look.

Hello Michael,

I had already done that. The only thing I found was the...
Here's how it's supposed to be done on the SEAT IBIZA, but a different control unit is used there. Does the same apply to the 7MO919861R instrument cluster, 064g?
Also channel 30 as well?

Thank you and best regards,

Peter.

The channel should be the same.

Okay, I'll try it later.

In which reference work can one find a compilation of the functions of the channels? Is it Erwin (siehe Fehlerdatenbank) or Bentley CDs?

Best regards,

Peter.

Hello,

Unfortunately, my instrument cluster does not have channel 30.
No value can be changed here.

Which channel could it possibly be?

Best regards,

Peter.

Hello,

If channel 30 isn't working, try channel 1. However, given the year your device was manufactured, it should already be set to channel 30. That's strange...

Mmmmhh. I'm also not having any success with channel 1.

The values of the channels that I can even describe are:

01 64051
05 150
06 360
07 360
08 294
09 5762

20,150
21 12
22 12
23 8
24,300
25,250

Channel 9 is the current mileage reading, excluding the last digit.

Can you make anything of that?
How do you know so much about this?
Do you have all the channels memorized?

Best regards,

Peter.

I got it!!!

Channel 1 is correct, however, only values between...
0 and 20 are possible values! If values greater than 20 are entered,
As VAG-COM showed in my case, with error code 64051, ...
ERROR and the fuel gauge goes to zero.

Okay:

Adjusting the fuel gauge.
Sharan, manufactured in 1997, with a combination instrument (dashboard) part number 064 7MO 919 861R.
via channel 1 and with parameters ranging from 0 to 20.
The larger the number, the further the pointer moves to the right.
At the number 20, the pointer is approximately 2mm further to the right.

Thank you and best regards,

Peter.
