After I already had the seal from the charge air path behind the EGR replaced once due to oil mist in the engine compartment, it's now leaking again, two hose clamps further down icon_evil.gif.

I took a couple of photos. Is there a need for action here, and what can be done to properly seal the area? These clip-on hose connectors aren't really the best solution...
As you can see in the picture, a hose clamp doesn't really help either...

Here are the two images for analysis (unfortunately, the quality is poor because they were taken with a phone).

Hi,

How did you manage to get the pipe fittings connected to the ASZ (Automatic Switching Zone)? Did you replace the hose and pipe?

My Polo has these clip things all over, and so far, they've mostly been leak-proof.
Perhaps that's because I only ever insert the connectors into the coupling when the wire bracket is in the "unlocked" position, so it can't damage the sealing lips of the rubber ring.

I don't see any urgent need for action at the moment, as long as the oil isn't dripping from the intercooler pipe multiple times a day.
Gruß Ulf

@Ulf:

I additionally screwed the clamp connection onto the clip connector myself, hoping to apply more pressure to the clip to make it close more tightly, but it had no significant effect; I was just too lazy to take it apart again icon_wink.gif.

I've already replaced a gasket once before, so I quickly figured out how to deal with the wire clip and how to use it. icon_biggrin.gif It only took one broken gasket to learn that.

I think I'll try replacing the seals with a new set and using the Loctite product mentioned in the link, when I get the chance.

Thank you for your help!

Sebastian.
