Hello.
Does anyone know where or how I can access the electric heater for my Audi A4 Avant 2.5 TDI quattro with Tiptronic and xenon headlights?
According to all available information sources, there is simply no space for a heater of any kind, regardless of the manufacturer, in this vehicle.
It would be great to finally arrive at the destination and not have to warm up first.
Thank you very much.
McLion.

There's no room for that in this vehicle; I once tried to install one, but there wasn't even space underneath the rear axle.
Best regards, from Marburg.

Hi, how about adding heated seats (if they're not already standard equipment)?
Best regards, Rainer.

The heated seats are already working and quickly warming up the leather upholstery I'm sitting on. However, unfortunately, this doesn't do much for the rest of the interior or for defogging/de-icing the windows.
Thank you very much.

I used to have a small fan that plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, with about 120-150 watts of power, attached to the dashboard during the winter.
While the performance is limited, it's sufficient to create a viewing window that remains clear even under unfavorable conditions and doesn't close up after just a few meters.
Of course, you still have to scrape away the loose material beforehand; it can't do that on its own. Gruß Christian

I have an Audi A4 B5 with a V6 TDI engine, Quattro all-wheel drive, Tiptronic transmission, and xenon headlights (manufactured in June 1999).
A standing heater from Eberspächer was installed by a Bosch technician in my car (the model with a separate burner and pump). The pump is located somewhere on the driver's side, behind the headlight, and the burner is attached to the engine on the driver's side, 'somewhere underneath.'
It ran smoothly from December 1999 to April 2004, but it was VERY, VERY LOUD. I had the friendly neighborhood police officers knock on my door three times in the morning around half-past four (it was the pastor who lives next door and always makes me get up at 10 o'clock on Sundays).
It doesn't matter... now it's worthless. The new price of a Brenner is about 60% of the original price. I'll think about it (since I hardly ride anymore).
I have to mention that I had it running VERY frequently... (3-4 starts per day, sometimes for 10-15 minutes, of course only during the winter period).
Regards,
Felix.

Okay, I'd like to chime in again:
I've already had the burner replaced. Eberspächer exchanged it for me for almost 250 euros.
However, the heater smokes so much that I can't really use it while stationary, because otherwise my car would get filled with smoke, and I would have to ventilate it before I could drive. (It seems like the air intake for the interior is located right where the exhaust fumes are coming from.)
I guess I have to take it back to the workshop again.
Furthermore, the windshield washer fluid reservoir has now completely failed, some of the underbody stone protection has been chipped off and torn away, and it hasn't actually gotten any quieter.
I'm trying to decide which car to buy next, and I'm looking for one where the original price list indicates that a built-in heater is an option. I haven't decided yet whether to have it installed by the manufacturer or by an aftermarket installer.
I would now advise against such overly complex and extreme solutions, even if they are implemented by the Bosch service department, as they are often too cumbersome and may involve excessive follow-up costs.
Regards,
Felix (AFB, currently with 235,000 km mileage).
