Hello, esteemed experts.

I want to try to do what Donalexo did with his Starren loader, which has a 90 horsepower AGR engine.
to convert to VTG standards. I recently purchased the following loader for that purpose.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7952209332&ssPageName=STRK:MEAFB:IT

At first, I thought the turbine blades might be difficult to move. But the opposite was true. They were so incredibly easy to move that it was almost eerie.
Of course, I checked to make sure the VTG adjustment was working correctly and that it wasn't disengaged.

Now, to my question.
Since the wastegate is pressurized (while the VTG uses vacuum) when the engine is under load, I'm looking for a pressure control valve with a similar range of approximately 1.5 cm and that is potentially adjustable in terms of preload.
If the control system doesn't work perfectly, I think it might be possible to adjust the VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) mechanically, perhaps by adjusting it based on boost pressure?

Please share your opinions.
"Especially, where could I possibly get something like that?"

Thank you!

How did you envision converting it to a vacuum system?
As I said. The EGR motor is controlled by overpressure.

You already have a vacuum system in a TDI engine.
You can also find a pressure sensor cheaply at VW with the part number 1J0... for 30 EUR, not the 1H0 which costs 110 EUR! (There was a thread about this).

Only the control system remains, which would have to be significantly lower in frequency for the waste container compared to the VTG system. So, we should buy the VTG EDC after all icon_smile.gif.

... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

icon_eek.gif I think it's getting too "electronic" for me now.
I'd rather stay on the mechanical side icon_wink.gif.
That's more my area of expertise.

But you're right, Martin.
If you really want to do it the right way, this would be the optimal solution.

Let me dig up that post about it.

Forget about mechanical adjustment. If the boost pressure, controlled by your mechanical system, doesn't follow the target values of the EDC (Electronic Diesel Control), you'll get error messages and the system will go into a limp mode.
What engine is the VTG turbocharger from?

icon_neutral.gif That's a good question.
"On the turbo, it says:"
AJR
GT22V
GA3 074145703E

Perhaps someone knows the answer.

Hmm, it looks like this is a charger from a 2.5 TDI. icon_rolleyes.gif
You should know that with this setup, you will hardly achieve any boost at low RPMs, which means the torque curve will be even worse than with a wastegate turbo, assuming you can even get the turbo to spool.

I don't want to offend anyone, but if you're going to modify something like this, you should definitely do your research beforehand to see if it's even possible, which loader would be suitable, what needs to be adjusted on the EDC, etc.

icon_eek.gif 2.5 TDI???

I was already wondering why this is such a huge part icon_biggrin.gif.
To defend myself, I have to say that I actually intended to buy a servo hose from the seller, and since the difference in shipping costs was negligible, I also included the loader in the purchase.
I mean, 21 euros isn't a lot of money, right?

Do you really think there will be such a significant difference in the response?
"Regarding power output per displacement, I see a difference of about 1/5, which translates to a better response from a VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) system."
In the worst-case scenario, I can always use it for my Mercedes W124 project icon_cool.gif.
