Enjoy your meal!

I have an Octavia Combi with 81 kW, first registered in 01/99, and I've unfortunately forgotten the engine code.

Recently, my car radio (RF) started experiencing intermittent interruptions while I'm driving. Okay, I guess I have to buy a new one. icon_rolleyes.gif
A few days ago, I noticed that the radio only cuts out when I, for example, use the turn signal or brake.
Yesterday, during a nighttime drive, I noticed that the headlights and interior lights dimmed slightly for a moment when I braked.
Yesterday, when I pressed the brake pedal, the ABS warning light briefly illuminated.
However, the problem doesn't always occur. I drove the car again yesterday afternoon, and it didn't exhibit any issues whatsoever. Since it's quite cool right now, you can easily hear the voltage drop by listening near the ventilation system...

I already replaced the battery on Saturday because the old one (the original one) was already worn out, and the problems had started appearing before that.

Overall, this suggests a mass error.
Are there any mass formations or mass events that have previously raised concerns in this regard?

Sure, no problem.

Regards,
Lars.

Hi,

Since such errors are rarely discussed here and, in my opinion, are also generally uncommon, I suspect that you will not receive any vehicle-specific further information.

I wouldn't immediately dismiss the problem as being solely due to mass.
The cause may be located anywhere where the current path of the activated and observed components is identical.
Okay, for example, also on the positive side, in the area of the fuse box on the battery...

I'm just saying it's a problem with the tailgate wiring! Check the cables there – the rubber grommet might be gone, and you should inspect the cables for any breaks. I'm actually only familiar with these kinds of mass defects/light reflections from my Lancia cars; they're quite rare on VAG products.

Best regards, Robert.

Hi,

Does the Octi also have a relay 109?
It could be consistent with the year it was built. The only question remaining is what powers it -> circuit diagram.

Ouch, if your idea is correct, then all sorts of things could start to go wrong.

I've always associated the number 109 with the EDC (Electronic Dampening Control) system, but not with things like the radio, brakes, headlights, etc., as Lars mentioned.

At the very least, the interior light should be connected to the "always on" circuit.

"In terms of workload, yes, but for the shutdown delay, she also receives terminal 15."

It was just an idea of mine, and depending on the specific configuration, it might be worth investigating.
