Golf II - Spurstange vom lenkgetriebe demontieren?

Hi,
I haven't done something like this in 10 years. Back then, I made a special wrench (by cutting off a section of an old adjustable wrench and welding a holder onto it) to loosen and tighten the lock nut. It worked, more or less.
However, I then swore to myself that I would never work on such cramped cars like Golfs and the like (which has held true to this day).
