I'm new to the forum because I'm switching from 10 turbocharged gasoline engines to my first turbocharged diesel engine.
'I need to replace the engine in my A6 (it has 650,000 km and the main bearing support has broken off due to a previous impact on the pulley).'
I have a VW bus ACV engine from 2000 with only 55,000 km. I'm going to rebuild all the components. I'll replace the injectors because the ones from the AEL are stronger. I need to find out more about the fuel pump. And regarding the pistons, the AEL supposedly has different combustion chambers and lower compression.
The turbocharger comes from a V6 TDI AFB engine and uses a pressure regulator to adjust the low-pressure setting.
Has anyone had experience with these types of modifications? If so, please help me, because winter is just around the corner and the Quattro needs to be ready for the snow. Thank you.

Hi,

'Sorry for my not-very-helpful question, but:'

...650000km, main bearing support detached...

650,000 km? icon_eek.gif
Well, I guess there's more in store for me...
Or is that a typo?

And otherwise - no offense intended! - try to explain your plan in a more systematic way. I find this incredibly confusing!

Hi Roli,
Let me guess what you're planning (no, it's not guesswork - (c) joergs - I just don't have a crystal ball; it's intuition)...
- You previously had an AEL engine and now you've managed to get an ACV engine that you want to install in your Audi!
- The car should deliver at least the same performance as before with the new engine, and if it offers slightly more, that's perfectly fine.

The nozzles on the ACV are likely smaller than those on the AEL, with the ACV already having an opening pressure of 220 bar.
could have (depending on the year of manufacture), and the AEL (Allowable Explosion Limit) is a maximum of 190 bar.
So, it's better to install the .216 nozzles right away (if you need a cheap source in Austria, send me a private message!).

The turbocharger you want to install is a VTG turbo... I can only recommend that you...
Using a motor controller for which there is at least some suitable software available (which was the case with the...).
Is the motor included?
Otherwise, for example, 074 906 021 M, because you won't be happy with the old AEL control unit icon_exclaim.gif.
Then adjust the dataset to fit, and you'll have a car with 160-180 horsepower.
verschandeln and robust operation.

Best regards, Rudi.

First of all, thank you. You're right, the VTG turbocharger with the pressure sensor works great. You can fine-tune the boost with a boost controller, just like a friend did on his car. He achieved 195 hp with software and 1.4 bar of boost. The problem is the difference between the 88 hp engine block. Sorry, it's not an ACV; I double-checked, it's the 2.5 TDI with the blue 'I' without an intercooler. I hope someone can tell me the main differences. Thanks.

You can use a turbo trainer to precisely adjust the LD (likely referring to a specific engine parameter) for optimal performance. A friend of mine already did this on an AEL (likely a car model), achieving 195 horsepower with software adjustments and a boost pressure of 1.4 bar.

Ugh, what kind of dual-mass flywheel did your friend install?
I'm already having quite significant problems with my AEL due to 'too much' torque.

Best regards, Mario.

'Nothing else is comparable; it's a completely different experience with the quattro, especially with the loud noise that's very noticeable in the driveshaft. I also need to figure something out regarding the clutch and related components. In my S4, I used sinter metal and a pressure plate from the 4.2 engine. For this one, I need some advice specifically for the engine, as I'm more familiar with the 3B/AAN/ABY engines, but only on a basic level.'

hi roli,
Many people have tried to do what you're suggesting with the VTG loader, but it has been deemed unfeasible. Can you explain the conversion in more detail?
Could you ask your friend how much torque is available, and in what RPM range? It's probably quite a lot.
icon_biggrin.gif Unfortunately, I can't provide any further information about the 88 horsepower engine. Perhaps the AEL and the AAT are the same as the ESP.
Best regards, Bastianna.

Wait until I'm finished with this. Then I'll let you know if the engine is dead or if it's working somehow.

hi rolli 752001,
I was just wondering how far you've gotten with your AEL conversion.
Is your car running again?

Hello rolli 752001,

I'm just checking in to see how far you've progressed with your AEL conversion. I would like to do the same with the turbocharger from AKE (V6 TDI)...

Is your car running again?

Best regards,
Rob
