After searching for over an hour here on the forum, I'm going to ask about it.
Does anyone know if the 1Z engine from a Golf 3 will also fit into an Audi 80 B4?
I had a seized piston in my engine and now I'm looking for a new engine block.
'On the **** platform, someone is selling TDI engine blocks. I called them, and they said that these blocks only fit cars where the engine is mounted transversely (sideways).'
Since the 1Z engine in my B4 is installed longitudinally, these blocks wouldn't fit.
Here is the link again: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7968793992
A transverse engine block has a different hole pattern on the right side (when viewed from the direction of travel) of the engine mount bracket compared to a longitudinal engine block. Therefore, your engine mount will not fit.
If you want to know more about other differences, you might find something else under [a specific section/link/heading].
