hi,
I'm looking for the exact specifications of the turbocharger that's used on the 1Z engine. I need both the original values and the maximum values, specifically regarding boost pressure.
Can any of you help me?
Sure, here's the translation:
"Thanks and greetings."

Hm??
Sorry, if you didn't find anything, it's either that your browser is broken because it won't let you click on any more links, or you should probably stop messing with your turbocharger because you don't know what you're doing.
All abbreviations and values that should be meaningful and that contain the information you are looking for are included.
Otherwise, please ask what is unclear.

Hello,
I need your expert help and advice.
Approximately 5 weeks ago, a new fuel injection pump was installed in my Audi 2.5 TDi (110 kW).
"In the last few days, my Audi has been emitting a lot of 'white smoke' (bluish-white)."
I thought this might be related to the fuel injection pump and possible settings. So, I drove to the workshop and asked them to check it.
I should mention that my car already has 260,000 km on the odometer and was manufactured in May 1999.
So, the workshop foreman told me that the turbocharger needs to be replaced, and in that process, the exhaust manifolds and compensator pipes also need to be replaced.
Total cost: approximately 2,800 euros.
I'm starting to get really frustrated. I just had the timing belt and inspection done at 240,000 kilometers, and then I had to replace the fuel injection pump (total cost approximately 4,000 euros).
and now they want me to pay another 2,800 for the turbocharger replacement and the pipes.
I didn't have the job done because this car seems like a bottomless pit.
Now, to my question:
According to the workshop, the turbocharger boost pressure is too high (2.7 bar! the normal range is 1.9 to 2.0 bar). Could this definitely cause damage?
In many forums, I've read that some people actually pay money to have the turbo boost pressure increased!
I can't feel any loss of power. Only the very unpleasant smoke is noticeable.
I hope you can offer some advice to a layman like myself.
Thank you very much for everything until then.
Uwe.

Hi Uwe,

Well, either you (and only you) try to understand and assess the problem yourself (and we can help you with that), or you have another workshop take a look and try to find the fault.
First, I would recommend a thorough study of the technical articles and the knowledge database related to your car.
Blue-white smoke can be caused by either burnt engine oil (e.g., a faulty seal in the turbocharger) or unburnt diesel fuel (e.g., an incorrect pump setting).
You can smell the difference with some experience, but unfortunately, you can't post any scents in the forum .
Best regards, Rainer.
