'I removed the cover yesterday and replaced the O-ring on the shaft, as well as the cover gasket. (Unfortunately, the sleeve from the repair kit provided by Bosch was too short, but it's still sealed well).'
The ESP is sealed again now, but:
As it often happens, I didn't mark the teeth of the throttle lever before disassembling it, and now the car only runs at idle; giving it gas has absolutely no effect on the engine speed?!
In another section on this topic (regarding ESP lids for sealing), it states:
'Turn the flow control screw 7-10 rotations counterclockwise and note...'
I don't have the exact number in mind right now, but I'm not sure if 10 is too much.
..'
I didn't do that, and why would I need to?
Did the lid come off on its own?
So, is it just a matter of the throttle lever being misaligned on the splines, or does the fuel flow screw (which I haven't touched) also have an influence on this behavior?
I also had to unscrew the idle adjustment screw because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to reach one of the screws on the pump cover. It's possible that the adjustment is no longer the same as before, which could be causing the problem.
