Hello,
does anyone here by any chance have the connection diagram of the connectors of a Gamma 4 from a Corrado/Golf 3?
I need the labeling for all 3 connection terminals on the radio.
If someone also happened to have the colors of the corresponding cables from the cable bundle handy, that would be great!
Unfortunately, when I installed an aftermarket radio in my Golf, as happens so often, the wiring harness was cut.
Thank you + Regards

Awesome!
Thank you very much. The only difference is that I have a 10A fuse?
An alternative question at this point:
C8 and 9 are subwoofer outputs. Are these active when the connections in block C are present, or are they always present? There was a discussion here about how these connectors only work in the DSP version of the game.

I can no longer say that with certainty.
The parts have also been out of production for too long, and the associated documentation has been archived for a long time. However, some of my colleagues claim that they were (at least with Philips devices) always pre-assembled. The Gamma 4 was produced by Philips, Panasonic, and Grundig!

Oh dear. Okay, let's see if I can figure out how to measure it today when I install it.
Thank you.

Okay, your plan was helpful, but unfortunately, I now realize that my '96 Golf, originally equipped with Beta, does not have a cable for Gala.
Do you happen to know how I can retrofit this?

Okay, I've also done some further research and incorporated the Gamma.
So far, it's working fine, and the reception is also very good so far, especially on the radio.
I think I might have the Gala signal. This is likely the blue-white cable that we mistakenly thought was the antenna connection.
Well, besides the Gala, there's a bigger problem.
Once the line out is connected and the amplifier receives the power-on signal via pin C6, the normal speaker outputs are switched off.
Does anyone know if this is correct?
Thank you.

Hello,
Does anyone happen to know where the original CD changer was installed in the Golf 3?
Is it normal that the CD changers on the Gamma 4 are not powered by continuous power, and therefore all CDs must be re-initialized every time the radio is turned on?
Thank you.

No, that's not normal.

Thank you. Then, I'll probably have to troubleshoot.
In any case, the Wechsler doesn't have power when the radio is off.
Even changing the magazine is difficult.
On the original VW cable, all contacts were present, except for pins 6, 8, and 9.
That's where the amplifier goes. Plus also only comes from contact 5, but this contact is only connected when the radio is switched on.
Where should the Wechsler Dauerplus come from?

As far as I remember, Wechsler had an extra cable for a permanent power supply.
But, please, it's been too long since we've done this.

Hm,
I finally have the schematics for the Gamma with the switch now.
Unfortunately, according to the plan, only 7 wires are going from the radio to Wechsler, and there is no additional cable for permanent power.
That would mean that the standard Golf 3 gearbox had to function without a permanent power supply, or the plans are incorrect.

I just checked the test changer on Saturday after the test. He has a separate permanent power connection.

Thank you, that helps and confirms my suspicion!
I think I know what it is.
The Wechsler is a Golf 4 gear shifter with a VW adapter for the Golf 3 wiring harness.
So, I have a Golf 3 wiring harness and adapter, and a Golf 4 to Golf 3 adapter.
One pin on the adapter is unused, and it will likely be the permanent power pin. Because the radio in the Golf 4 has an additional permanent power output.
The "Wechsler" is likely a replacement part from VW, used to replace a faulty Golf 3 transmission.
Then I probably have to add a permanent power supply to the free pin.
To do this, I just need to obtain the appropriate wiring diagrams for the Golf 4 radio with a cassette player connection, model year 2000 (cassette player). Then one can understand this configuration of the adapter.
Thanks anyway, now I know what to do.

Okay, I've now found the pinout for the Golf 3 wiring harness and the adapter.
VW makes it quite easy with the adapter! The existing switched plus from the Golf 3 wiring harness is simply "doubled" in the adapter and additionally connected to the permanent plus connection of the Golf 4 changer. There, they could also have designed the adapter so that the cable could be routed separately, so that the permanent power supply could be connected correctly!
By the way, the "Wechsler" is a 1J6 035 111 part, originally from a Golf 4, and it was manufactured in October 2000.
Unfortunately, the wiring diagram (for a Gamma Golf 4 from 05/2000 onwards) that I have does not match the actual wiring. But VW had completely changed the wiring in 2000, and it seems the electrical connections are identical.
Well, at least I now know where I need to connect the permanent power, it's just a bit of a hassle to disconnect the pin on the adapter
And I need to try it twice more because I don't know for sure which of the two pins is the permanent one. Switched Plus is.
