Hi!
Okay, I once had a Golf 2 Syncro with 90 horsepower and an automatic transmission, and I modified it like this:
1. All interior components, from the rear.
2. Side windows, welded shut with sheet metal.
Rear complete suspension legs from a Passat 32b Syncro, specifically the off-road suspension version, designed for increased load capacity.
4. Complete front shock absorbers from a Passat 35i TDI.
5. The rear differential lock can be manually engaged (otherwise, it engages automatically when reversing).
Result:
Ground clearance of 35cm under the sills and extreme off-road capability!
and I really tried it out extensively... some Jeep drivers couldn't believe their eyes.
Of course, this car has never been to a technical inspection (TÜV) or a traffic control (thankfully for me!).
