I spoke with a fleet manager today about alternative propulsion systems.
There is a growing trend of using diesel buses powered by autogas (LPG).
Here are two possible translations:
**Option 1 (More literal):**
'For this, 2 possibilities.'
**Option 2 (More natural):**
'Here are two possible options.'
Spark plugs are retrofitted, and the compression ratio is reduced, allowing for alternating operation between diesel and gasoline engines.
or
2. The diesel engine runs normally at idle, but in addition, gas is injected. In this case, the diesel only serves to ignite the gas.
Could it be possible to increase the power of the PD-diesel engines using Option 2 by simply adding more gas until the soot limit is reached? Or is there again a monitoring system in the MSG that checks this?
Sure, one can discuss the effort involved and its purpose, but...
