Golf 7: Turning lights not working

I have a Golf 7 where the fog light and turn signal light are combined into one unit. The fog lights themselves are working fine, but the turn signal function is not working. What could be the cause?

If the fog lights are generally working, then either the cornering light function has been disabled, or there is a fault.

Since you got VCDS from here, the first questions are:
- Error memory read?
- Encoding checked?

It's located in the headlight with xenon bulbs.
For halogen bulbs, it's in the fog lights (at least in my Golf 7 station wagon).

Since the person who started the thread mentioned that it was integrated in their NSW (New South Wales) system, I initially believed them. However, it's definitely a good idea for them to clarify whether they actually have halogen lights. Otherwise, they might be looking in the wrong place.

PR-8ID: I have halogen double headlights. The cornering light is integrated via the fog lights. The daytime running lights are implemented using a dual-filament halogen headlight within the high beam reflector.

PR-8IG: Headlights for gas discharge lamp (simple xenon). Probably has halogen daytime running lights. I have no idea where the cornering light is located. I suspect it's also integrated into the main headlight unit.

PR-8IM: Headlights with cornering lights and LED daytime running lights (you probably already have those). These likely feature projector lenses and turning lights integrated into the main headlight unit.

PR-8IP: Includes xenon headlights with dynamic high beam (DLA - dynamic light assist) and LED daytime running lights. I suspect there's also a cornering light integrated into the main headlight, but I'm not certain.
