Hello everyone,
I've read a lot and found some answers that are somewhat relevant, but they deviate from my specific problem and don't give me a 100% accurate idea of what it could be.
I drive an A6 2.5 TDI Quattro, manufactured in October 2002.
In the summer or when the weather is warm, it's not a problem. But as soon as it gets colder, then...
"My A6 starts, but it sounds bad for the first few seconds, as if a cylinder bank or a cylinder is misfiring, and there's also a puff of blue smoke. After that, it runs perfectly fine with no loss of power. When the engine is warm, it starts normally. As I said, this only happens when it's been standing overnight and the temperature is below +4°C."
I read the error codes from the engine control unit today:
Control unit part number: 4B2 907 401 J.
Component or version: 2.5l/4VTEDC G000SG D09
Software coding: 01015
Workshop Code: WSC 02325

additional info: 00006059 130 106LC150_1.V79534995287
3 errors found:
01318 - Control unit for fuel injection pump (J399)
49-00 - No communication.
17978 - Engine control unit locked.
P1570 - 35-00 - -

I thank you in advance for your suggestions.

It appears there's a defect in the control unit, meaning it's likely faulty. Is the vehicle still in its original condition, or has it been modified, for example, with a chip tuning upgrade?
P.S.: Which version of VAG-COM are you using?

"No communication" usually means that the pump control unit is broken; I've never heard of a cable fault being the cause. And this summer, it wasn't just my own pump that failed. However, when that happens, the motor stops working, which isn't the case for you.
Have you checked the spark plugs? Gruß Christian

Yes, the car is in its standard configuration, meaning it has the original 132 kW power output.

It looks like it's just a low voltage or a power outage. First, clear the error codes and then observe again. I wouldn't worry about it too much for now.

It just looks like an undervoltage or power outage. First, clear the error memory and then observe again. I wouldn't worry about it too much for now.
I see it almost the same way .
VAG COM 3.11
Just update and throw the 3.11 version in the trash .
