Hello everyone,

"For some time now (6 months), according to my MFA (Multi Function Display), I've been noticing an increased fuel consumption of approximately 0.6 liters in my Golf IV TDI 74kw PD (AXR) engine. I initially reactivated the EGR valve, but there was no improvement. Now I'd like to ask the community: what could be the cause?"

Mileage: 125,000 km. The timing belt was replaced 1.5 years ago and it has not affected fuel consumption.

Which components should I check? Or could it be due to wear and tear on the PD elements?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"cu" is a Spanish abbreviation for "con usted," which means "with you." It is often used in online communication to indicate that the sender is available to chat or talk.

Here is an example of how "cu" might be used in a conversation:

Person A: "Hey, I'm bored. Want to chat?"
Person B: "Cu!"

This means that Person B is available to chat with Person A.

"Cu" can also be used to indicate that the sender is thinking about the recipient. For example, if Person A is thinking about Person B, they might send a message that says, "Cu."

In general, "cu" is a friendly and informal way to communicate with someone online.

We assume that:

Clean air filter.
Diesel filter clean.
Oil in the correct quantity and specification.
"There are no new tires or flat feet present."
No modifications to the exhaust system.
no heavy, permanent luggage.
Is the consumption checked not only by MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) but also computationally?

If everything is okay, tap the catheter to see if the contents dissolve and form a barrier.
Let's do a log check to make sure everything is correct, and then we can proceed.

Hello,

1. Air filter: clean / replaced.
2. Diesel filter clean? / No, I don't know what that has to do with it *thinking*
3. Oil: Correct amount and specification used / completed and OK.
4. No new tires or flat spots are present / exactly.
5. Modifications to the exhaust system / EGR system - normal operation.
6. No heavy, permanent luggage / No.
7. Is the consumption checked not only by MFA (meter reading) but also through calculation? / No.
Why would the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) show increased consumption if no more resources are being used?

If everything is okay, I can tap the catalyst to see if the contents dissolve and form a barrier. / I can do that.

Let's do a log check to make sure everything is correct, and then we can proceed.
--> What should I log?

Thank you in advance for the suggestions icon_wink.gif.

First, do the basic things! Because the fuel gauge doesn't always have to be accurate icon_wink.gif => Calculate fuel consumption and refill amount!!!!!!!!

A clogged diesel filter won't be the cause. It was there because of the potential for data generation, so they could find out what the maintenance status of your car is.

If everything is new, nothing has been changed, and the error message is generic, then no one here can help you without seeing a detailed log.

Okay, what should I log?

Regarding the consumption display:
Does this display change over time icon_question.gif?
I no longer have an adjustment channel either.

After my VW Sharan AFN's fuel consumption increased by 2 liters, I logged the boost pressure (measuring block 11) and found this:

Somewhere, something is probably leaking, or the cat is blocked. Maybe you're experiencing something similar icon_question.gif.

Best regards,
John.
