Resetting the service interval display on a Volkswagen Golf III (Solution)

With the ignition turned on, press and hold the button located below the speedometer.

Turn off the ignition and release the button. The advertisement features the text "OEL".

Press and hold the minute button on the digital clock or the button for adjusting the analog clock until five dashes (-----) appear. Only then will the service be reset.

By pressing the button below the speedometer again, the other service events will be displayed and can be reset individually.

Turn the ignition on and then turn it off again after "IN 00" appears.
