I've corrected the minor layout errors.
I didn't pay much attention to which way the components were oriented, because it essentially only matters about the holes in the circuit board .

It's not perfect, but it's also my first one.

Unfortunately, I cannot ship circuit boards.
I don't make those myself, and my friend makes everything by hand.
There are quite a few holes that need to be drilled, which I don't want to ask him to do too often.

Out of curiosity, I've been secretly developing the Opto project further, but so far, it doesn't seem to require any more power than 2.4.
And for me, somewhere along the line, the economic principle also matters: achieving the goal with the least amount of effort. And right now, the 2.4 is, at least in my "development," the best option I can offer.

If you get bored , you could try designing a layout for a "worst-case opto-adapter" for COM ports that are hardware-wise unfavorable and for situations with highly fluctuating board voltages .
I can email you the already tested circuit diagram.

Currently, the potential for conflicts of interest appears to be extremely low.

As promised, here's the layout from me, and as an extra, a few pictures of my finished adapter.
Of course, thanks go to Ulf for the idea and the design .
Without him, none of this would have been possible .

- PC817 Optocoupler (Sharp) (OK1-3)
-1N4148 diodes (D1-4)
- BC547C transistors (T1+2)
- BC557C transistors (T3)
-1k Ohm metal film resistors (R1, R3, R5, R7, R10, R14)
-10 Ohm metal film resistors (R13).
-100 Ohm metal film resistors (R16, 17).
-2.2k Ohm metal film resistors (R2, 6, 11, 12)
-3.3k Ohm metal film resistors (R4, R9).
-330 Ohm metal film resistors (R15).
-470 Ohm metal film resistors (R.
- Piher trimmer potentiometer, horizontal, 10kΩ (VR1-3)
- Elko 8x11 RM3.5 220 µF / 16 Volt (C1)
Multilayer capacitor 47nF (C2)
- LED, super bright, yellow.
- Super bright green LED.
- Super bright red LED.
- Suitable enclosure for my circuit board.
The LEDs aren't quite ideal; it's better to use different ones if you can find them.
These have a solid 'casing,' which makes it difficult to see if they are lit.

I ordered the OKs from Segor because 1. I wanted the ones that Ulf recommended, and 2. a friend of mine had ordered from Segor before, so I didn't have to pay for shipping. You'll have to figure out how you want to do it.

Here are a few more things to keep in mind:
There are still 3 spots that need to be scratched away, either on the circuit board or, preferably, already on the photoresist film, which must not make any contact.
As indicated by the red arrows in the following image!

I was able to get very affordable prints made for Ulf's 2.4 milling machine thanks to the Eagle data provided by kfh. I have two extra prints left - if anyone is interested.

Here's another question about VAG-COM: I have the full German version 2082, and I'm experiencing a problem where the program closes itself after a few minutes. Also, when logging the measurement blocks, the values are not being written to the CSV file. The operating system is Windows 2000. Have you had similar experiences, or do you have any idea what might be causing this? Or do you have another working version (perhaps in English) that allows reading measurement group 0 and that has logging functionality?

'I'm experiencing the same problem with version 208.2, and many other users are too. Unfortunately, DRV has only recently admitted that this version was/is obviously buggy. If you actually have a license for this software, you should upgrade to version 3.022. It's stable for me! Another option would be to use the 0.81 beta version. It's not as demanding in terms of communication as the 2.x or 3.x versions!'

I just downloaded the 3022 - it's actually (exceptionally) automatically unlocked if the 2082 was unlocked .

But have you found any manuals or guides for the VagScope and TDIGraph accessories ?

no, I haven't yet. Just the superficial blafasl on the DRV side! Let's wait and see if auto-intern releases a new version. Maybe there will be a new manual then!
