Hello,

Since August, whenever I open my VAGCOM (Profi-CAN) software from Rainer's shop, I get a pop-up message saying that the software is outdated and that I should look for a new version.

Is there a way to disable this feature globally, rather than having to painstakingly click on the relatively small crosshair each time using the touchpad?

Actually, I don't really feel the need for an update, especially since it would involve a lot of effort to copy all my label files again or adapt them to the new format.

No offense, but tough luck.

Older versions are deliberately no longer supported, and there is no way to disable this warning. You should consider updating, not only to get rid of the message, but also to take advantage of some of the useful new features. icon_wink.gif

Since updates are available for free, there's really no reason to stick with older versions.

Your problem should be very easy to solve...

Simply take your existing (personal) label files and save them to the folder /VAG-COM/Labels/User - they should be located there by default - and then you can easily import them in the future.

Hi Ulf,

Why don't you simply copy the contents of your old label folder into the 'User' directory of VAG-COM? It should work without any problems and only take a minute.
The latest version is available as always in your customer account.

I'm a bit unsure how to disable the message without changing the system time, but I don't think that action makes sense anyway, and besides, the updates are free icon_smile.gif.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Rainer,
If the old labels (6073) are compatible with the new version (7041), then that would be fine.

I only vaguely remember that the new labels are no longer compatible with the old ones.

Old label files should always work with newer versions, but new label files might cause problems with older versions.

*Dig it up*

"For the past few days, my 8050 has also been showing as outdated (Lappi's system time is correct). However, I don't see any updates available in the download section?"

Since I have now learned how to copy my labels to the new version icon_redface.gif, I wanted to quietly inquire about when an update will be released.

Hi,

The 805.1 driver is definitely available for download. I installed it yesterday. However, the RT updater hadn't offered it yet.

You don't have to worry about your labels; you can find them saved in "labels.old" after installation. Also, the old "Autoscan.txt" file will no longer be deleted without warning; instead, a copy will be created first. It used to be really annoying when the automatic update caused problems icon_cool.gif.

Previously, I would always back up the entire program folder before updating. Later, I manually restored all customized labels and copied the customized Autoscan.txt file from the old version using the clipboard.

@SebastianViewing profile: Sebastian:
Perhaps it will be possible to automate this process in future versions, or to move the user entries from the "Autoscan.txt" file into a separate file?
Gruß
