Retrofit Electric Trunk Release Audi A3 8L

Since my car, an Audi A3 8L from 1998, only had central locking, I installed a pump from a newer model (from the 2001 facelift version) with integrated frequency-based control.
So far, no problem. I had the internal key blank filed down by various online retailers, and a transponder from my old (spare) key was implanted, and it seems to be working fine.
