Skoda Felicia: Won't Start? Troubleshooting Guide

The car was parked in the garage without any previous sputtering or other complaints, and then it suddenly wouldn't start. The workshop said that this was likely due to...
due to a faulty glow plug fuse, but that fuse is fine.

*correct fuel has been filled.
'Starter sounds good.'
*The engine immediately stalls when trying to start, without even sputtering or 'catching' once.

Does anyone have any other ideas about what we could try or check?

What does that mean? Is the crankshaft actually turning?

Hello, do I understand correctly that the starter motor rotates until the piston passes the top dead center (TDC) position, and then the starter motor stops?
How long was the vehicle stationary after being parked?
Could the battery have collapsed?
Was ist die LL-Spannung/Anlaufspannung?
Disconnect the starter cable directly at the battery terminal and connect the ground cable to the starter motor. Measure the voltage during the starting process.
Or is the starter motor turning against the valves? Try turning it manually, or try pushing the car in 4th gear to see if it goes past Top Dead Center (TDC).

I would start by checking the battery. Maybe you can try swapping it with another vehicle. Then you'll see how it behaves when starting. Best regards.

No, no, the battery is fine, the starter is working as it should, but the engine...
It doesn't matter.

The amount of time the vehicle had been stationary since its last use was probably only about 10 hours.

I took it to the workshop yesterday, let's see what the problem was.

What do you mean by that?

When I say 'it doesn't start,' I mean that when I try to start the engine and put it in first gear, the engine doesn't even turn over once; it immediately stalls. Perhaps it's also because the manual suggests trying to start the engine in second gear?

Conclusion: The workshop called today and said it was because all 4 glow plugs were faulty.
'were defective, and this old pre-combustion chamber engine requires one to be able to start.'

Stalling when starting up??? Is it mechanically blocked? First gear and walking pace? What is the starter motor doing?

Whatever a TDI without a turbo is, it's an SDI, so it has nothing to do with pre-combustion chambers.

The "I" definitely does not stand for "Indirect"!
