My experience: the NTC pill in the dispenser either works, or it doesn't. If it doesn't, the temperature value it outputs is usually consistently wrong, and not sporadic, as you describe. On the other hand, there can also be contact problems directly at the sensor element. These can also be temperature-dependent.

"Occasionally, the temperature sensors can also produce erratic readings. In the measurement data blocks, you can sometimes see 10 different values within a 10-second interval. This usually occurs in conjunction with vibrations."
I checked it out and found that water had gotten into the sensor.

The instrument cluster also displays an error code, but identifies the sensor as "G2". However, I'm sure it's the same sensor (according to the description from diesel.gustav, thank you).
I will replace the sensor today, and then we can see how it goes. Thank you.

Greetings, Peter.

The sensor "G62" is, of course, not located on the radiator, but on the cylinder head, in the area of the 2nd cylinder. Two of its pins are for the temperature gauge, while the other two are for the temperature measurement of the EDC. According to my information, the pin assignment depends on the connector type. There are two versions of this. The designation "G62" is correct. .

Hello.

Gustav is right: at least the EDC sensor for the engine temperature doesn't seem to have the same name everywhere. For the ALH, it has the same number, while for the AFN, as mentioned, it's called G27, even though, like in the ALH, the thermometer sensor is also included, which is called G2 in both cases. icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

I've now replaced the sensor, but does it always fit so loosely?

I just installed a new O-ring, but that good part is really only staying in place for appearance's sake, is that normal? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif ??

Does it have any significance that the color of the plastic on the new dispenser is green, while the color of the plastic on the old one is black? I'm curious icon_rolleyes.gif.

All the symptoms have disappeared thanks to the exchange. Although the donor looks perfectly healthy, he was the one responsible.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Peter,

It's nice that you're sharing the final result with us icon_smile.gif.

It remains to be seen whether it will consume more power with the improved charging system.
Gruß Ulf

Hello Ulf!

After my test drive yesterday, I can only say that the fuel consumption has remained the same. However, I wouldn't necessarily attribute this to the fuel pump, as the outside temperatures have risen, leading to significantly shorter warm-up periods. I would need comparison data from other T4 drivers using the ACV engine.

Yesterday, the bus needed 7.3 liters per 100 kilometers icon_biggrin.gif on a rural road, with the automatic climate control turned on and a moderate driving style. icon_wink.gif That's not a bad value, considering the size of the vehicle, which has the aerodynamics of a brick. }

Greetings, Peter.
