In the settings area, after testing the USB interface, the following appears:
Update the USB library/driver version to 03.01.18 / 02.04.18!
Initially, I couldn't access the A6 using the USB port that I normally use. Then, I went to the other side of the laptop and logged in there. It probably would have worked on the first USB port as well, if I had logged in again using that port.
"However, this issue only started appearing with version 908.1; previously, it also occurred with the A6."

Regarding the USB port issue, it's normal depending on the computer. You can either install drivers for all the devices you use or always use the same USB port.

Okay, but the driver error message appears on all USB ports, at least now without the vehicle in the "dry run" mode.

However, Ross-Tech provides a note regarding driver versions:

Quote:

The USB drivers shipped with some previous Releases reported an incorrect version -- much higher than it should have been. When you install the new drivers that come with this version, Windows will probably complain that they are older than the ones which are already installed. You must answer "Yes" when asked if you want to replace the files anyway. Previous versions of VCDS may also complain that the new drivers are outdated. This can and should be ignored.

So, just click "yes, that's fine"
