I have already replaced the noisy pulleys of the timing belt tensioner, so I replaced the entire part.

After the rattling noise we heard earlier today, and now with the intermittent flickering of the battery warning light, it seems the part was definitely due for replacement.

- All rattling noises at idle, under load, and during startup >> gone.
- Engine operation: much smoother than before.
"Something else I've noticed is that the car needs less fuel... I often drive this route and have always used between 6.5 and 7.0 liters per 100 km – today it used 5.5, with the same driving style. It also seems to accelerate better, but I think that might be my imagination."

"Something was added to it, and the part that was installed has been replaced with something else – apparently there were improvements. If you tap the defective part, you can hear a metallic rattling sound. And the bearing has about 2mm of play."
Yes, I'm really amazed by the quietness of the ATD . I can finally drive at 60 in 6th gear again without getting a noisy racket from the front. It's truly amazing how much noise such a simple tensioner can make...
