Manufacturers are constantly learning and improving aspects related to the AGR (Abgasrückführung - exhaust gas recirculation) system. For example, in the EU6/BIN5 V6 3.0 TDI engine, a micro-catalytic converter is already integrated into the AGR circuit, as stated in SSP 428, to prevent deposits from forming. Gruß

For the T5GP race, the track also goes through the "Block/Head" area.

May your words reach God's ears!
This brings us back to the topic of considering the overall balance, including energy input, system vulnerability, maintenance requirements, and the potential for reducing carcinogenic substances in these systems.
Despite all the enthusiasm for the latter point, I somehow find a perfectly clean intake manifold, head, and valve to be quite beautiful in their own way!
If the micro-catalytic converter mentioned above becomes completely blocked, the new system will likely be similar to the old one with the added metal sheet. Are there already any suppliers who specialize in dealing with blocked micro-catalytic converters?

Blocked microcatheters are identified and reported based on the measured mass flow rates.
Then it says "no engine start in 1000km," and it's probably the entire AGR system that needs to be replaced . Transparency, Teamwork

With Euro 6, the engine should be monitoring its own emissions quality, right? And if it detects that it's about to become a really bad polluter, then it should completely shut down the engine until the (verified!) problem is fixed... I'm really curious why, in many posts, closing the AGR valve is already being done or recommended as the first step.

The same reason why people run tuning programs on a fresh Windows installation and then rejoice at the 167 supposed errors that it supposedly fixes.
Or why people paint on the edges of their audio CDs, etc.
Without AGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), the engine takes longer to warm up and runs more roughly. Since food is not prepared in the intake manifold, it doesn't need to be shiny. Gruß Christian

The raw emissions are crucial for the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system, as the exhaust gases are recirculated at the 'engine outlet.' These emissions are correspondingly low in new engines. In modern engines, these exhaust gases are cooled, and the dissociation processes that occur with them even lead to a minimally more efficient air-fuel mixture preparation, which results in excellent combustion. For older systems without cooling, the same applies.

With Euro 6, shouldn't the engine itself monitor the exhaust quality?! And if it then detects that it's about to become a 'nasty stinker,' shouldn't it completely shut down the engine until the (verified!) problem is fixed...?
