Hello.

What are the technical differences between the two 90 hp TDI engines?
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"bzw welche Teile sind gleich?"

"or which parts are the same?"

I hope this helps!

Cylinder head, injectors, turbocharger, engine control unit, etc.

I'm asking because my engine "already" has 250,000 km on the odometer, and I want to start looking for replacement parts... icon_smile.gif

I'm driving an ALE (likely referring to an audio system or other component) in a Golf III Variant, manufactured in 1998.

"In between" there's also the AHU.

The ALE is the EUR3 version of the 1Z.
He at least has different injectors and different control units (software).

I wouldn't just assemble an ALE (Automatic Line Exchange) using 1Z parts.
The nozzles open at 190 bar instead of 220 bar, which means they are opening too early.
Accordingly, the software versions have been adjusted – and they are not simply swapped out.

It will run (it already has an ALE-STG on 1Z hardware), but it's not advisable in the long run.

I don't know much more than that off the top of my head.
Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Thank you for the quick response.

It seems like ALEs are not that widespread... icon_sad.gif

For the 1Z, everything is thrown at it, but things will be difficult for the ALE.

The ESP (Electronic Stability Program) should be the same, as should the turbocharger, if you can trust the sellers on the online marketplace!

I'm still interested in the cylinder head...

Fuel injection pumps are not all the same; at least the plunger and injection control valve have been modified. The cylinder head has been the same since mid-1995, but older 1Z engines still have valves with a 8mm stem diameter.

Hi..

I had AFN injectors installed in my 1Z engine, and it had over 200,000 km on it, without any problems.
The only consumable I had was the turbo. It simply couldn't withstand the temperatures.

Sure, here's the translation:

'lg' is a German abbreviation that stands for 'liebe Grüße,' which means 'best regards' or 'warm greetings.' It's commonly used in emails, letters, and other forms of communication to express affection or goodwill.
