Hello everyone!
I installed a VW single CD player in the top DIN slot (in a GOLF IV TDI).
integrated and connected via the existing cable to the original VW radio (GAMMA).
connected.
It works perfectly, however, the control buttons become unresponsive after the light is turned on.
Not illuminated as intended.
The button illumination is working correctly and is present (I also tried a second controller - nothing works).
Could someone please tell me which PIN needs to be assigned to the player with the PLUS indicator light?
'or can someone provide me with a schematic diagram of the player (pinout of the connectors)?'
Send email to ([email protected])
I would be incredibly grateful if someone could help me with that.

Hello,

You'll need a small adapter cable to illuminate the buttons.
Unfortunately, I don't have the part number handy, so just ask the friendly staff.
'Please inquire.'

Hello,

Here's an Alpha device that has its own pin for the lighting in the ISO connector, separate from the power supply voltage (so that the lighting can be dimmed along with the dashboard lighting). There's a label next to it showing the pin assignments, and the lighting is marked with a sun symbol. In the simplest case, you can just connect +12V to this pin, but it won't be dimmable.

It's kind of labeled upside down... icon_wink.gif As the picture is taken, what's actually up/down, the wider connector is on top. No guarantee that the pinout is the same on your radio!! [img] So, proceed with caution... http://320036920636.bei.t-online.de/alpha.jpg It shouldn't be wired in a way that you could damage anything when swapping VW to VW.

I inquired with VW, and they informed me that the adapter cable is only available with a new single CD player.
My question: Can anyone tell me what the PIN is for the original VW SINGLE CD PLAYER?
with a positive voltage and possibly a ground connection? icon_sad.gif

Helloooo..... are you ignoring me?? I even took a PICTURE!

Just to reiterate for reference, this is the pin that applies to ALL VW radios, and it's pin 6 on the black ISO connector (as shown in the image).

Of course, I didn't ignore you!!
However, I already know which signals are being transmitted by the radio.
(Brown is the ground/negative, and gray/blue is the positive from the adjustable/dimmable light.)
My problem was, which PINS to connect to on the SINGLE CD PLAYER!!!!
I received an email today.
Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

I had the same problem when I was upgrading the single CD player.
If I remember correctly, the CD player has a...
additional 2-pin connector for the lighting.
One of these two contacts is the ground connection, and therefore can be identified using an ohmmeter.
The determination will be based on the housing. For the others, you apply the same thing.
Potential similar to that of 'Radio am Sonnen-Eingang.'
Regards,
Volker.

NOW I GET IT (VIEWED FROM BEHIND: LEFT SIDE = plus / next to it = minus).
I would like to thank everyone who has helped me.

Rudolf,

I thought you had a standard slot-in CD radio, and those don't have lights. I realized that the VW CD unit is a separate device. You had mentioned all of that above.
That's what happens when you skim the text too quickly... Sorry!
