Hi,

'On my Audi A3, manufactured in March 1998, the two LED lights of the alarm system in the doors are blinking randomly. Sometimes they blink briefly after locking the car and then stop, while other times they stop blinking after hours or even days.'
I suspect there might be moisture involved: it seems to be working better after a long period of dryness. However, when I use the windshield washer, the problem gets worse again.
I think it started when the rear windshield washer nozzle froze in the winter, one of the poorly made hose connections gave way under the pump pressure, and I ended up pumping water into the car. I've found several of these low-quality connections before (in the tailgate near the wiper motor, on the left side in the side compartment behind the non-return valve, and in the cable duct behind the air filter), but maybe I haven't found them all yet?
I don't know what to do next.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem, and perhaps already found a solution or have an idea about what might be causing it?

Thank you!

Regards,
Peter.

Hello,

Do you have the DWA with interior monitoring?

Hi Michael,

Sorry, I forgot to mention: yes, I have the anti-theft system with interior monitoring.

Regards,
Peter.

Hello,

The lights are wired as follows:
- Quantity of T10d / 9 connectors.
- Plus on T10d / 10
- From T10d / 10 to J347 / 10 (Control unit for ultrasonic monitoring).
T10d is a brown connector located on the coupling station on the left-hand A-pillar.

Have you ever read the fault memory of the interior monitoring system (address 45)?
Tschüss

Hi Michael,

I'm going to check the error memory today.
Do you know where the sensor for interior monitoring is located?
I've already looked around the A-pillar, but I was looking for hose connections for the rear window washer system. However, I didn't find any, and everything seemed dry there. Could moisture in the door wiring be the cause?

Regards,
Peter.

Hello,

In the A3, the control unit is located under the trim panel behind the left B-pillar (near the rear wheel arch).
Tschüss

Hello Michael,

I checked the error memory earlier, and (unfortunately) there are no error entries.
Then I'll have to take a closer look at the wiring soon.

Regards,
Peter.
